Choose the exact Pro 5.
The standard 148 mm Boost rear hub is offered with 6-bolt or Centrelock rotor mounting and 24, 28, 32 or 36 spoke holes. Choose those interfaces before ordering.

This specific Eagle model lists 10–50T gearing, XD driver and Eagle chain technology. Use the appropriate Pro 5 XD configuration. Other XG-1295 revisions can differ.

Confirm the derailleur’s range, chain and shifter generation separately. XD and XDR installation arrangements must follow the relevant instructions.

Prefer a wheel already built?
Hope’s Fortus 30 SC Pro 5 is a trail/enduro option that brings the hub, rim and spokes together. Its published recipe includes:
- 32-hole J-bend Pro 5 hub; 6-bolt or Centrelock options.
- 27.5- or 29-inch aluminium rim, 30 mm internal width.
- Sapim Race double-butted stainless spokes and brass nipples.
- Micro Spline, SRAM XD and Shimano freehub options.
- 32 mm tubeless tape, valve and wipe supplied.
Hope describes the rim profile for 2.4–2.8-inch tires. The tire, sealant, cassette and brake rotor still need selection.
Choose the exact rear-spacing variant. Hope’s page lists several widths but also uses a general 142 × 12 mm supplied-conversion statement; confirm the ordered 148 mm wheel configuration with the seller.

Choose the tire and its supporting parts.
For the 29-inch, 30 mm internal-width examples above, begin with a 29 × 2.4 tubeless tire. The choices below are candidates with published dimensions; frame clearance, casing suitability and the complete rim/tire pairing still need confirmation.

Record both the rim and tire pressure limits and follow the more restrictive applicable limit. A printed maximum is not a recommended riding pressure. Rider load, terrain and casing influence the operating choice.

What changes with another rim?
DT Swiss EX 511
The custom example above uses the 29-inch, 32-hole variant with 601 mm ERD and the specified PHR washers and Squorx nipples. It keeps the proposed 32-hole Pro 5 hub, subject to the wheel builder’s lacing and spoke calculations.
Return to the exact EX 511 buildENVE AM30
ENVE lists 30 mm internal width, 28 holes, 3 mm rim offset and a 605 mm ERD for the 29-inch rim. Its suggested tire range is 2.3–2.6 inches.
ENVE AM30 specificationsThis is a separate 28-spoke build proposal. It cannot replace the rim in the 32-spoke example unchanged. Choose a matching hub drilling and recalculate spoke lengths, accounting for the rim offset and required hardware.
ENVE tire and tube requirementsENVE identifies AM30 as hookless and permits inner tubes only with a tubeless or tubeless-ready tire. Carry those requirements into the tire choice; do not transfer the EX 511’s hooked-rim assumptions to it.

The other side of the hub: the brake.
Select the rotor attachment with the hub: 6-bolt or Centrelock. Then match the rotor’s diameter and thickness to the caliper, frame and adapter. The hub attachment alone does not settle those dimensions.
For example, Hope’s Vented rotor is 3.3 mm thick and made for V4 brakes; Hope excludes it from EVO GR4 compatibility. A matching six-bolt hub would not remove that restriction.
Concrete six-bolt example
A Hope Floating 6 Bolt rotor, 203 mm × 1.8 mm, matches the attachment of a six-bolt Pro 5. Hope’s EVO GR4 page excludes the Vented rotor; use the ordinary floating rotor route as the example to assess with that brake.
Floating rotor dimensions & mountingStill conditional: the frame must allow a 203 mm rear rotor, the caliper mount needs the correct adapter, and the floating carrier must clear surrounding parts. No adapter is selected without the frame’s native mount size. A 200 mm rotor is not the same dimension.

The Pro 5 Micro Spline drawing identifies bearings, pawls, springs, seals and drive-side spacers separately. A bare freehub body is not the entire conversion assembly. Confirm all required pieces against the exact hub.
